Good evening, Dear Readers!

Today i am going to discuss about the impact of social media on our daily lives.

We are the generation who can use the freedom of expression at peak with ease and abundance of information. All thanks to the circus of social media around us. We are so much equipped with the media apps and unlimited data plans from network providers that we can search the content as much we like and whenever & wherever we want.

We can share what we want, where we want and from anywhere with ease and in a fraction of seconds.

The benefits are numerous of the social media platforms but so are the cons.

While there are social media queens and kings who with their popularity have become influencers to the young with their pout mouth selfies and deep fake 6 pack abs, there are many who are also using this platforms for the betterment of the society. The uses are different.

The main benefit : it has become a source of income. These media have opened doors to whole lot of income sources and careers. So now everybody wants to win this race and become the viral fever.

But the question is, do we really show, what we are? Really?

Folks, it is time, we introspect ourselves and ask, are you living it??

We all are living in a pseudo life, surrounded by people disconnected from themselves, with honey coated photo filters and overly decorated exaggerated media profiles.

Most of these posts, or i would rather say 90% of these posts are fake  and just an answer to somebody's show off. We are so much connected to our devices that we have lost senses of reality. Many psychological diseases and physical ailments have started emerging due to the prevalence of social media and the show off culture because the use of a device have restricted our bodily efforts.  People prefer scrolling social media rather than reading a book, gardening or to go  tracking, though there are still a few who choose these and i bow to them. Teenage suicides, divorces and social imbalances in family are the resultant products of these technologies.

But like Ted Hughes said, "Nothing is free in this world and there is always a cost to it." , so you are the cost, and thus we pay. The fitness of our mental and physical health is the payment to the free offering.

It is time we disconnect, rethink and revisit our purpose in life. We have chosen such a fake world to live that we have really forgotten the real Happiness and the real connections that we should be expressing gratitude for.

I am not against the usage of social media. it is good to be connected and updated but the question is at what cost?

There is a famous saying, "Make hay while the sun shines" and while our sun is shining it is time we wake up and recognize our real world, be involved and cherish the reality before it passes away.
