Sustainability & Me: My Goals

Dear Folks, Welcome again!

The finest Greetings of the Festive season with Ganpati Bappa boosting us with his blessings!!

The frequent showers of rains in September again hints us to do our part for Global Warming. With much delay from my end, I am back here to keep up my promise.

Here I list down the : Individual Sustainable Development Goals to contribute in combating Global crisis. I say it as "My Sustainable Development Goals".

1. Go minimalist in living. Live on minimum required things. Buy and keep things only of need.

2. Be immunized to diseases. Practice home remedies.

3. Support the underprivileged economically, financially or resourcefully by  all possible means. May be by providing knowledge or resources for their uplifting.

4.Use pool travel or public transport wherever possible.

5. Educate and aware people in and around your community for environment and social causes. End poverty by skill building and by providing employment.

6. Empower and encourage women and girls for financial and social independence. Each one, Teach one.

7. Try generating less waste. For food, try composting. For books and clothing donate. Manage your E-waste wisely.

8. Save & build financial and knowledge capital.

9. Buy local products. Support vocal for local.

10. Avoid polluting products containing chemical and plastic components. Try plant or cloth wrapping/bags.

11. Support energy efficient products and utilize less energy. Plan your tasks well.

12. Plant oxygen giving trees and medicinal herbs as much as possible. Reduce overuse/abuse of natural resources.

13. Change food habits to vegan or vegetarian. Develop kitchen farming for organic and good quality yield.

14. Develop & support by donating food, knowledge and cloth banks.

15. Promote and practice healthy lifestyle and simple living.

Even if we commit for any 5 of the above goals at least, we can make a much larger impact considering the population strength at large.

Let us pledge to undo the much done damage and promise a better world for tomorrow.
